“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest for your souls. My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus gave us this promise as he had prayed to the Father, expounding that all who know him know him because he has revealed himself to them.

Why? Because he loves us, he created us as recipients of that love, but it is up to us to accept and receive and then rejoice and simply rest in that love.

He knew we would have days of doubt, exhaustion, heartache and fear and that we would need to rest.

Rest that does not come from the world, any person in the world or any vice that the world has to offer but rest only found in coming to him and allowing him to surround us in his presence, his gentleness and his grace.

Accept that offer today and find a most precious rest.
