The Blessing, Time to Bury the Hatchet

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.

It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.” Psalms 133

Picture that, this precious oil completely covering and the oil of healing coming down upon our land and upon those who dwell here.

The election left many with horrifying fears of an apocalyptic dystopia.

Speeches delivered laced with false predictions that were nothing more than fear tactics to lead them, not into freedom but into bondage.

The ultimate deception of communism and socialism is that everyone is treated equally but nothing could be farther from the truth, personal property, wealth, and freedoms must be sacrificed in order to allow for that supposed equality for all.

That is not freedom, the enforcement of those rules for the “good” of society as a whole, always come with poverty, starvation, violence, and often arrest and imprisonments and far worse.

Anyone remember Chinas one child policy from years back?

Chinese women were forced to have abortions if they became pregnant after already having one child.

Many female babies were abandoned because fathers wanted sons as lineage insurance.

You can quite easily read today horror after horror that citizens of these countries suffer daily if they fail to abide by these rules.

Atrocities still committed against those who would believe in any deity other than their government, not just Christians, but anyone, any religion, who would dare express faith of any form.

That again, is not freedom. is it not freedom, to be forced to think, say, or do anything contrary to one’s personal convictions.

You do not have like me; I do not have to like you, but you should never dislike me only based on a difference of our views, as I should not automatically dislike and disrespect you for yours.

I was fortunate to grow in a time and place that we could all be friends and we could all get along and have common human compassion and concern for one another while having strikingly different views and backgrounds. In our school we actually welcomed the new kids, with new stories and cool new accents, such a one who came to our state from Michigan, we all needed a little translating with our different styles of slang, that was half the fun.

No one cared who was black, who was white, we wouldn’t have cared if someone was polka dot and striped, we just wanted to be their friend.

This has always been the greatest joy of being American, we could be different, we could share stories of different places, different experiences, and have majorly different outlooks on life and what we wanted from that life, but everyone was welcome

We are the mingled people of the Bible and that allowance for being individual is what had always made us a great nation and as our election has proven, we do not want to be told what to do, how to do it, what we must accept, or have laws shoved down our throats that violate everything we personally believe in.

Our basic laws were always sufficient, the moment our thoughts and words and whether we chose to bake a gay cake or use the wrong preferred pronoun become criminal, that is when we experience true tyranny.

Mention of freedom, the truth about the abortion battle is quite a simple one, most are screaming about the “right” not even considering the truth of an unborn child, not even bearing in mind that this is about a living being.

As a former liberal democrat, I know this, it is a fight for the perceived control over one’s body, and much of it is born out of the horrible oppression that women truly suffered at the hands of misogynistic men through the ages.

As a teen I had heard the stories of the coat hangers, the stories of turpentine, and measures so desperately taken by mothers who already had housefuls of children, terrible husbands that they were completely financially dependent on and legally bound to, and saying no, was not an option as martial relations were seriously referred to as “wifely duty” during that time period and it was not even considered a crime for a husband to rape his wife.

Regardless of how terribly they were treated or the abuse they endured they had no legal recourse, as they were considered property and every move made was only with permission from these men, I use that is a very loosely these monsters were not men.

I do want to point out, that there were also real men who did truly love their wives and treated them as God intended. Which has also helped us get to the rights we have today, like that right to vote.

The root cause however is that former oppression, the same oppression many of our sisters the world over still endures every single day

I, like many women had seen enough of these attitudes that I was as hardcore feminist as they come, the false teaching spread by many men proclaiming to be “of the cloth”, just further convinced me that Christianity was also stacked against us.

I had a friend that tried to help me see the truth, even though I declared I personally wasn’t for it, others should have the “right”, and as my friend would reason why it was morally wrong, they were always met by my constant screams of “It’s her body! No man has the right to tell us what to do with our bodies!

I tell this to say that I am not just sitting passing judgment and thinking I know everything. I don’t.

But I do know what Jesus has mercifully taught me and that is no one can understand the meaning of true femineity until they know Christ and know his love.

I am getting so far off base with this, but it does need to be said, the enemy has used oppression as a tool to convince women to destroy themselves and millions and millions of unborn children.

The days of old are long gone and those things suffered by our mothers and grandmothers past no longer exist.

We have birth control, we have financial and legal freedom now, there is no justification for murdering an innocent child.

Demanding the legal right to do so because we feel that it is our right, is no different than the slaveowners who were also legally allowed to own, beat, murder human beings during slavery.

Being legal does not make it right.

The last twenty years of humankind will go down in history as dark, black, and horrific as those days, as we have saw abortion after abortion, gender mutilations, and hatred of God, and antisemitism far worse than during the Holocaust.

None of us can truly see evil for what it is until we accept Christ, then and only then does he reveal these truths to us.

He created us all, whether someone believes or doesn’t believe, he still created that person, but he doesn’t force them to accept him or worship him.

That is personal choice and we, as a society, by that same token have no right to make demands on the morals or personal beliefs of any.

That is the lesson learned from our election, we are free and in time prayerfully many who have been falsely made to fear will realize that there is no threat to them or to their personal beliefs.

And as we have welcomed God back to our nation, they will also reap from the benefits of those returned blessings.

As argued as it may be, the truth still remains that this nation was dedicated to God in the name of Christ and once that happened, that cannot be undone.

With that dedication and acknowledgment of God the nation was blessed, even with the influx of evil people who did commit horrible atrocities here, doesn’t change the fact that the land itself is God’s.

With that God gives his blessings in prosperity, peace, and goodness to those who dwell in that land, but the moment he is forgotten, he starts to remove those blessings, area by area until repentance is made.

This was a constant in ancient Isreal. God would bless them, they would prosper, forget all about God and he would allow judgments, then they would repent, he would restore them once again, over and over.

This human condition is the basic theme for the Book of Judges, story after story.

As an individual or nation is blessed of God, those blessings flow to others also.

Just as those who came out of Egypt with the Hebrews were blessed in all the areas the Hebrews were. And were also allowed freedom and safe passage through the Red Sea.

Potipher and the prison prospered because Joseph, even though he was enslaved, he was blessed of the Lord in all he did and ultimately that blessing saved Egypt and his own people.

Hagar, the sorrowful, mistreated handmaiden was blessed by angelic visits, not once but twice on her journey with Abraham and Sarah.

We could go on and on…

Whether citizens believe or don’t believe, they still partake in the blessing of a country that honors God.

When judgments come as warnings, one of the first is often a “sword on the treasures”, and even the night of the election, the economic rebounds were signaling.

If it did not go in the direction, you personally had hoped, just try to give it a little time, forget what you have heard and do your own research, don’t always believe the fear others sell.

Just wait out with patience and you may be surprised when those blessings return in the form of better wages, lower fuel and utility bills, and lower grocery prices which will all come all part of that blessing in acknowledging God in our nation.

Not to mention all the other wonderful blessing that he sends and his protection over us.

So please, can we just bury the hatchets and respect each other for our own uniqueness and individuality?

When our times come and death visits, I truly can’t imagine that anyone will have politics, elections, or any snare from this world on their mind.

Only life and the knowledge of that life, how short, how precious, and how much of it that we waste in hate of our fellow humans and how that hate for those we have never even given a chance, will not be of any benefit in our crossing and more importantly of no benefit in the legacy of our life that we will all leave behind.

Love & Peace
