“I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. As the lily among the thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
As the apple tree among the trees of wood, so is my beloved among the sons.
I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste,
He brought me into the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.” Song of Solomon 2:1-4
If women only knew how valuable, how loved, and how cherished they truly are by their Creator.
A world that pushes and pushes us to be tougher, stronger, militant, and unyielding when in reality our greatest strength lies within the secret of allowing ourselves to be vulnerable under the shadow of a mighty God.
The world and more precisely the enemy and his agents have set us up so well in the false belief that we have to fight and fight and, in that fight, that we also must fight against the very one who can save us, the one who truly values us as we are and all the intricate, beautiful, complicated aspects of our souls as his daughters.
The blame for the oppression, the sexism, the constantly trying to get up after being beating down by mass misogyny has always been falsely placed on God and Christianity, and there is nothing farther from the truth.
The beautiful passage above describes just that, He is the Rose, He is the Lily that we will discover in those valleys, plural.
Human life doesn’t afford us the kindness of walking through but one valley, life is a journey of valleys and mountains and all the seasons, and emotions that make us human.
He gives us his promise with this passage that He is lily among those thorns.
He is the beauty for our ashes.
Our hurts, and sorrows do not come from Him, and he understands that pain, he understands those tears and he understands betrayal, as he himself was betrayed with a kiss, brutalized, mocked, and murdered. There is nothing we can experience that he cannot understand.
He is not our enemy; He is our truest friend.
Below are a few posts that I pray will help shed light on the truth of God’s word concerning his love for his daughters.
I will update as possible, but I do pray these will be blessing.
