BEFORE THE THRONE

“Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.

Rejoice (make glad) the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord do I lift up my soul.

For thou, Lord, art (are) good, and ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications (hear my pleas and answer).

In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt (you will) answer me.

Among the gods (dead, worthless idols) there is none like unto thee (none like you), O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

All nations whom thou hast made (you created) shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: Thou art God alone (You are the only God). Psalms 86: 3-10

Palm Sunday:: to me Palm Sunday deserves the thought and respect given to Christmas, Easter, and other Holy Days.

Each Palm Sunday link will take you to a different post and I’m certainly not stopping now.

I do understand the argument against it that the enemy has whispered into the ear of many.

Of all his arguments this is one of the most ridiculous.

That we should not celebrate Palm Sunday because the crowd at the triumphant entry was also the same crowd that was crying for his crucifixion days later.

Not everyone called for his crucifixion.

Those that loved Jesus still loved Jesus.

And those that were screaming for his death were just along for the benefits of the ride.

Those, who were spiritually as Judas. who professed to be a disciple but was actually a thief , who would eventually sell out the Lamb for those thirty pieces of silver.

Those who love Jesus and serve him will worship at his throne, while waving palms and proclaiming his praise after souls are raptured from this earth.

Just as we revisit and refresh our minds and spirits to the classic Christmas story, this is the Palm Sunday Story:

*Zechariah 9:9: Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion: shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly (humble), and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass (donkey).”

*Matthew 21:1-17: “And when they drew nigh (came near) unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you (across from you) and straightway (immediately) ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them and bring them unto me.

And if any man say ought unto (anything to) you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

All this was done, that it might (would) be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and the colt of an ass.

And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them.

And brought the ass, the colt, and put on them their clothes (a makeshift saddle blanket) and they set him thereon.

And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way (also laid down their clothes in the path) others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way (scattered then in his path, as honor to a King).

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?

And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast (threw) out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sell doves,

And he said unto the, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple: and he healed them.

And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying (happily proclaiming) in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased (very upset).

And said unto him, Hearest thou (do you hear) what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.”

*Revelation 7:9-12: ” After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nation, and kindreds, and people, and tongues (languages) stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

And all the angels stood about (around) the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell on their faces, and worshipped God,

Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.”

Praise him for the past, praise him for the present, and most of all praise him for the future in which we will praise eternally!

Psalms 117:1: “O praise the LORD, all ye nations, praise him all ye people.”

Love & Peace until next time!
